12 pin pricks

Well, I can't lie, I am not the most optimistic person when it comes to natural lifestyle changes that I read about when I do my research. I tried an hour massage and while it was relaxing during, about 5 minutes after I had left and got into my car I had some wild shooting/stabbing pains throughout my entire body. So, for some people, I am sure it works but for this girl, I don't think I will ever be giving it another try. I have also read some positive things about acupuncture. I of course was pretty skeptical and anxious about someone stabbing me with needles. Insurance rarely covers it so, I had not been pro-active about finding out where to get it. My one friend at work mentioned a place in the town that I work in that had a chiropractor who did it for a flat fee of $30.00. Jerad and I decided it was worth a try for that amount of money to try to see if I had any relief. Emily, the doctor did something called the 12 areas for balance. I had two pins in my right hand, one in my left foot, one in my left ankle, one in my left ankle, one behind my knee cap, three near my nail beds of my left hand and one in my head. They really didn't hurt much more than if you were to pick up a pin by accident and stab yourself. They leave you in a dark, quiet room, with some piano music playing, laying on your back. In about 2-3 minutes I began to feel this pulsating feeling in my left hand. I looked at the needles and they were vibrating! I slowly began to feel heat where the other needles were too (except in my head). I do not know a time where I have ever felt that relaxed for those 45 minutes. I just about fell asleep in that tiny room! When I left I noticed two things. One, I was incredibly tired and two, I had non of the sharp, throbbing pains that I had in my body when I even was talking to the doctor. I had no pain that night (haven't said that in years) and had a lot of energy. I even did my hair and makeup and went out for dinner (the little things that make us excited)!!! That night I slept my normal 13.5 hours but when I woke up, I didn't feel like I was in a terrible accident like usual. I still had no pains. As the day went on, I felt good. Towards night I did get some stiffness in my neck and back but still non of my stabbing pains in my feet or hands. I have another appointment on Monday and I am looking forward and hopeful to this new found natural medicine!
